This painting and spalling repair project sees our Garden Route / George team working in the beautiful town of Buffelsbaai on the Western Cape Coast (Our coastal teams really get to work in some of the most amazing places.) This property has a pretty big problem with delaminating plaster as well as a pretty extensive spalling issue but it is in our capable hands.
Stripping plaster and concrete before we can paint.
The first plan of attack is to address the delaminating plaster by chipping it back to the concrete then prepping the surface ahead of re-plastering. On the spalling front, you will see that we have stripped back all plaster and concrete to expose the rebar that is the cause of the swelling once exposed the rebar is ground back and treated with our preferred kit manufactured by ABE. Once treated we will apply new concrete and it will be better than new.
Our painters have already done the high-pressure cleaning of all the walls as well as the outside ceilings. Where cracks have been repaired we have used a Dulux Alkaline Primer and where nails had begun to rust on the ceilings we treated them with the Jotun Vinygaurd.
Follow along with us as we begin to lay colour down on this building it is going to be great.
